This handcrafted saya is a Red Rayskin–Wrapped Saya (赤鮫皮包鞘), featuring a rich red finish that adds distinctive texture and visual depth, providing a refined yet powerful alternative to conventional lacquer-only saya. The red tone conveys vibrancy, strength, and elegance, while preserving the understated aesthetics of traditional craftsmanship.

The koiguchi (mouth), kurigata (cord knob), and kojiri (end cap) are crafted from polished natural horn, ensuring structural integrity alongside organic beauty. Each saya is individually handmade, guaranteeing precise proportions, visual harmony, and long-term durability. The overall impression is composed, robust, and elegant—ideal for mounting as part of a complete koshirae, or appreciated on its own as a finely executed traditional sword fitting.

The wrap may be made of either Imitation Rayskin or Genuine Rayskin (Samegawa), depending on selection.

The saya shown in the photos is sized for a katana, but wakizashi and tanto sizes are also available, all at the same price.
