This handcrafted saya features a Kin Mushikui-nuri (金虫喰塗) finish—an intricate lacquer technique where golden flecks are scattered in irregular, organic patterns, resembling the traces of insect bites on wood or leaves. The effect creates a unique texture, combining elegance with a touch of natural imperfection, highly valued in traditional Japanese aesthetics.

The koiguchi (mouth), kurigata (cord knob), and kojiri (end cap) are made from polished natural horn, ensuring both durability and organic refinement. Each saya is individually handmade, ensuring precision, visual harmony, and long-lasting durability. The overall impression is striking yet refined—ideal for koshirae mounting, or admired as a lacquered art object on its own.
